The Concolor  a large and expanding species of Cory, inhabits the softwater streams of the Orinoco and its tributaries in Colombia and Venezuela. A notable variant recently identified is the CW217 Rio Tomo Cory (Hoplisoma concolor Rio Tomo CW217), distinguished by its bicolor pattern. Similar to most Cory catfish, these fish are known for their peaceful demeanor, resilience, and preference for being kept in groups due to their natural schooling behavior. Given their larger adult size, Concolor Corys serve as excellent bottom feeders or dithers in aquariums that house medium-sized South or Central American Cichlids or other predatory fish that are not large enough to consider them as prey.
