Hockeystick Pencilfish 3-4CM The Hockeystick Pencilfish is a small schooling species found in tributaries, backwaters, and swamps, where the water flows slowly or is nearly stagnant, surrounded by thick vegetation and plenty of leaf debris. In its natural environment, the water is quite soft and acidic, taking on a tea-like hue due to the tannins released from decomposing leaves and wood.
