Description Our Charlotte’s Chalet Cedar Bluebird Bird House is a beautifully finished nesting box that will look attractive in any yard. Constructed of western red cedar and painted with exterior latex house paint, it will last for years outdoors. A copper roof enhances the beauty of the box, protects the cedar and will age to a beautiful brown patina. Bluebirds are cavity nesters, so this box is built to mimic a natural (tree) cavity that Bluebirds would select in the wild. Other birds that may use this box include Chickadees and Tree Swallows. The box has adequate ventilation, features a side opening door with a knob on it for easy maintenance, and comes with a copper hole protector already installed. Your Bluebird Nesting Box should be placed on a metal pole or post 4 – 6 feet off the ground. Placing any nesting box on a fence or a tree invites predation. We carry the perfect 6′ metal pole that comes with a flange for mounting the box and is easy to tap into the ground. We also recommend placing a Squirrel baffle below the box to deter predators. 1.5″ entrance hole Dimensions: 8″ x 8″ x 16″ Weight: 4 lbs Angled roof diverts rain Constructed with wood screws Side door for easy cleaning Ventilation Easy to mount on a pole or post Cedar construction Copper roof Exterior latex house paint Comes with a copper hole protector, already installed Hand made in New England
