Our pool deck is 14” deep. I think they specify maximum 9” deep to submerge without purchasing the risers, which we didn’t want. So I filled them with 2.5 bags of pea gravel each using a funnel and shaking it down (took a couple hours but worth it), then filled the rest with water and they stay in place/don’t float at all. If you have a deeper pool/cabo deck, just use more pea gravel, but keep in mind any deeper than 16 inches and it might be too deep to enjoy. We used pea gravel instead of sand so they’d be easier to clean out in the future and won’t risk dumping sand in the pool). Sturdy enough plastic and still light enough for 2 people to maneuver during pool maintenance. Also, you cannot see the pea gravel inside (I was afraid it would cast a shadow from inside but it doesn’t). I think the depth is perfect because it covers your hips and your legs don’t float. I was afraid the extra depth would make it difficult to stay put and relax but I stay put comfortably and feel weightless in the chair. Could easily fall asleep and not float away. I wish it came with plugs for the water inlet. It’d be nice if the holes were slightly bigger with screw plugs. If anyone has a suggestion where I could find plugs that fit please let me know. Perfect for what I wanted and easy to clean with just a scrubby sponge from the kitchen and seems durable and should last for several years.
