Description The WD Purple Surveillance HDD is engineered specifically for video surveillance systems, where long hours of continuous operation, multiple camera streams, and low power consumption are critical. With Western Digital’s AllFrame™ technology, this drive helps reduce dropped frames and improves video playback by optimizing how data is written to the disk. Built to sustain a workload of up to 180 TB/year, the WD Purple drive is meant for constant write-intensive workloads — far more than standard desktop drives.  It supports up to 64 HD camera streams (depending on the model) and is compatible with multi-bay NVR systems.
